Called to order 7:21 p.m.
Minutes – March meeting minutes to be reviewed and adopted at next meeting
Student Council Update – president elections completed

- Spring spirit week coming up – details TBA
Treasurer’s Report – Dave Dye – PAC hasn’t fully exhausted some budget items and as a result, has asked Administration to make sure staff knows that funds are available
Old/New Business –
School Sponsor club requests – no club requests
Dry Grad Committee – Giovanna Irving
- Raffle ticket sales ongoing
- Drive event fundraiser successful
Collaboration Time – Deanna Worobets, Barry Callister, Ed Ko
- an initiative for the fall for teachers to collaborate with other teachers to support student learning
- plan to implement 5 dynamic collaboration days per term
- rotating supervision schedule for students 8:40-9:40 Wednesdays
- 8/9 tutorials with student mentors; gr. 10s homework time; gr. 11/12s work or social time (separated) but many mentors will come from this group
- mentors by teacher referral or by application; 2 credits received for participation by mentors
- potential topics to be dealt with – literacy, healthy living, math/critical thinking, etc.
- this presentation will be available on-line – feedback welcome
Committee Reports –
DPAC – Dave Dye – a status quo budget means no new cuts in contrast to what has historically been done – there are enough reserves to cover the structural underfunding from the Province
Parent Education – reminder of April 25 Dr. Vo presentation at Mountain on topic of Mindfulness in Teens
Principal’s Report – Highlights
- report cards distributed before spring break
- Wizard of Oz play was successful
- Outside school shutters installed
- New course selection procedure went well
- About 100 cross-catchment and out of district kids projected for September
- Honours assessments for incoming gr. 8s complete
- Summer school registration opens Wednesday
- Grad assembly April 28th
- New apps coming soon – “mountain connect” – great communication tool for parents, instant updates
- New teacher contract sets 30 students/class maximum;
home ec/shop classes at 26; ELL 20 and 2 or more low incidence students equals a class size drop of 1 student
- Parent portal presentation next month
